CIDG nabs alleged LTO fixer in Valenzuela City

INQUIRER.net file photo MANILA, Philippines — Police operatives caught an alleged Land Transportation Office (LTO) fixer in Valenzuela City, the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) said on Thursday. In a statement, the CIDG said it caught the suspect in front of the LTO Valenzuela District in Barangay Maysan on Tuesday afternoon, following a complaint endorsed by the Anti-Red Tape Authority. READ: CIDG nabs 3 alleged LTO fixers in Manila, Quezon City Article continues after this advertisement The CIDG identified the arrested suspect only by the alias “Gary,” a male 35-year-old Navotas City resident. “The agency’s standard processing period for driver’s license is three days for P7,500 payment, while the suspect asked for an overpriced processing fee of P8,500 for a one day processing period,” the police explained. “The suspect [also] alleged that he has [a] connection inside the LTO Valenzuela Office who facilitates and expedites the transactions,” it added.
