Chronic disease costs push Cavite families to borrow, cut back — study

MANILA, Philippines — Families in a low-income municipality in Cavite often had to stretch their budgets to pay for medicines and other health care needs, with many turning to cheaper or alternative treatments, borrowing money or using their savings, a recent study by the University of the Philippines (UP) found. The study surveyed 200 households
