Chris Kamara’s son breaks down in tears as Sky Sports legend completes Great North Run after recovery from illness

CHRIS KAMARA’S son, Jack, broke down in tears after his father managed to finish the Great North Run despite his ongoing battle with speech apraxia. The Sky Sports legend, 68, was diagnosed with the speech disorder in 2022 and has since had to step back from his broadcasting duties. Kamara told BBC: “When I got to the line, I really couldn’t believe it. And then my legs couldn’t believe it either! And they collapsed below me. “But it’s so emotional getting around that track. “I’m back! I know I’m not really, but I am back.” His son Jack began to speak, but couldn’t fight back the tears as his heart swelled with pride. Jack said: “So proud. He’s come a long way,” before his voice broke. He eventually continued: “He could barely walk a few years ago, so, to do that is just unbelieveable.
