Chris Johnson unable to travel to Nashville, Titans postpone Ring of Honor ceremony

The team released a statement on Friday afternoon announcing that they will still celebrate Johnson’s career at halftime of the game, but that the official induction ceremony will take place at a later date. “Due to unforeseen circumstances, Chris Johnson and his family are no longer able to travel to Nashville for this Sunday’s game,” the statement said. “Knowing how much he and his family desire to be in person at Nissan Stadium for his induction into the Titans Ring of Honor, we will postpone the official induction ceremony and look forward to celebrating the moment with them at a future date.”Johnson revealed that he has ALS earlier this year. The 2008 first-round pick spent six seasons with the Titans and also played one season for the Jets, who will be the visiting team in Tennessee this weekend.
