Child left fighting for life after falling from first-floor window as air ambulance rushes to the scene

A CHILD is fighting for his life after plunging from a first-floor window in a horror fall. Emergency services were scrambled to Rochdale, Greater Manchester, shortly after 4.15pm today. Police and paramedics rushed to the scene after the child was found seriously injured. An air ambulance was also spotted landing nearby as emergency crews battled to save the youngster. The youngster was rushed to hospital for treatment and remains in a critical condition. The heartbreaking incident happened on a residential estate in the town this afternoon. Greater Manchester Police said emergency services attended after receiving a call about the welfare of a child. A force spokesperson said: “We were called today (22 August 2026) at around 4.16pm to reports for the concern of the welfare of a child on Spotland Tops, Rochdale.
