Chief Minister presents awards to meritorious officers

Rangasamy presented awards to several meritorious officers at the Independence Day celebrations held at the Beach Promenade on Saturday.Mr. Rangasamy presented the President’s Police Medal for distinguished service to Superintendent of Police (Retired) S. Bascarane, President medal for meritorious service to Sub Inspector of Police, Sigma Security, S. Anandhan Sakthivel and Special Grade Sub Inspector, Police Training School, R. Gomathy. Around 20 police personnel were awarded with meritorious service medal instituted in the name of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.The Chief Minister also presented the Chief Secretary’s Trophy for best police station to Ariyankuppam Police Station. The departments of Industries, Fisheries and the Puducherry Examining Authority were also honoured for their achievements. The Karaikal Government General Hospital was also awarded for its service.
