THE NFC North is shaping up to be one of the most exciting divisions in football this season, with all four teams believing they can finish at the top and all four having played their part in a thrilling Week 1. The Chicago Bears might just be the team to watch in the NFL this season, heading into year 2 of Ben Johnson as head coach and year 3 in the career of quarterback Caleb Williams. It continues to be a match made in heaven – they put up 59 points on the Carolina Panthers last week. Yes – fifty nine. The Minnesota Vikings finished 9-8 last season despite some – at times – very poor quarterback play, owing massively to their coaching staff and a solid defence. Third string signal caller Carson Wentz was called upon against the Green Bay Packers after an early concussion to starter Kyler Murray – Wentz enjoyed one of his best days for several years, throwing three touchdown passes and leading a fourth-quarter comeback. After nailing our four-leg 22/1 bet builder in Week 1, we’ve looked for something similar here for what could be a box office rivalry game in the Windy City. Should all four selections land – as a bet builder – it will pay out at combined odds of 15/1 with bet365. 💡 Our Chicago Bears vs Minnesota Vikings bet builder selections We’re expecting points here – it seems inevitable nowadays whenever any two NFC North rivals lock horns. The Bears could score more than anyone in the whole league this season, but will also give up plenty. The Vikings have made a habit of defensive scores and flipping games, which they’ve had no right to win, on their head. 🏈 Caleb Williams to throw for over 230.5 yards (20/23) WHY: Whisper it quietly but Caleb Williams could have a shot at the league’s MVP award this season – let alone defeat the Madden curse (he is the cover star this year). He passed for two touchdowns, and ran for two, against Carolina. The Bears were able to do whatever they wanted against a shockingly poor Panthers defence, however – they had two separate players record 100+ rushing yards! It’ll be a different story this week against a highly-rated Vikings unit who are good against the run and at generating pressure on the quarterback. KEY STAT: The Vikings’ defensive performance was something of a mixed bag against Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers – they allowed 387 passing yards but sacked him four times and also picked him off. They were solid against the run, however, giving up just 66 yards on 21 rushing plays. This suggests they’re robust in the trenches, but suspect in coverage once the ball is in the air. Williams would be best served getting the ball out quickly, and he certainly has the receivers to distribute it to. 🎯 Justin Jefferson to catch 7 or more passes (29/20) WHY: At risk of stating the obvious, Justin Jefferson is really good at football. No matter who’s throwing him the pigskin, his production remains consistently high. Last season’s 1,048 receiving represents a career low, and that dip is understandable given how the Vikings quarterback situation was in constant flux throughout 2025! It’s a little bit muddled this season too, although Kyler Murray’s concussion on Sunday couldn’t be helped. Carson Wentz took the reins and will likely do so again for Week 2. The game was also a reminder of Jefferson’s star quality and he should be Wentz’s first read on the majority of passing plays – especially if the Vikings are playing from behind. KEY STAT: Jefferson was Wentz’s go-to weapon against the Packers – he hauled in eight of his nine targets for 92 yards and two touchdowns, on a day where Vikings pass catchers only caught 15 balls between them. We don’t see that changing here, even if he grabs one fewer against the Chicago Bears, you can get better than even money. Panthers receiver Jalen Coker – even in a losing effort – caught eight balls against them for 138 yards. 🎯 Cole Kmet to register 20+ receiving yards (7/4) WHY: Cole Kmet was at risk of becoming the forgotten man in the Bears offense – what with the emergence of rookie tight end Colston Loveland – and has been rumoured to be a trade candidate in recent months. Kmet, however, combined with Caleb Williams to produce one of the highlight plays of last season, grabbing a Hail Mary to send the playoff game against the Los Angeles Rams to overtime. He also caught a touchdown pass on Sunday, meaning he has (effectively) scored in back-to-back games for the first time since 2023. KEY STAT: Kmet was relegated to TE2 when the Bears drafted Loveland in 2025, but his two catches for 35 yards against the Panthers – while Loveland went without a catch – makes him worth keeping an eye on this week. 🏈 Aaron Jones to score a touchdown (4/6) WHY: The Vikings entered the season with a split backfield with Jordan Mason and Aaron Jones. The former was listed as RB1 on the depth chart having ran for more yards and touchdowns last season, and he led the team with 15 carries to Jones’ 12 against the Packers. At some point during the game, however, he sustained a fractured thumb and has since undergone surgery. He will miss at least four games while on injured reserve. KEY STAT: Jones has been an efficient back throughout his career. In his debut season for the Vikings, having moved across from Green Bay, he rushed for a career-high 1,138 yards and five touchdowns – a number he’s only bettered three times in nine full seasons in the league. 🗞️ Stats & news that matter for your Bears vs Vikings bet builder Stat 1: Caleb Williams’ over/under line for passing yards is 230.5 – which he hit in eight regular season games in 2025, plus the two playoff games (ten times in 19 in total). He’s very much a hot hand right now. Stat 2: Justin Jefferson is used to playing with backup quarterbacks and his importance for the Vikings offense only increases in such scenarios. Regardless of who’s throwing the football in Minnesota, Jefferson always “gets his” – he’s registered over 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first six seasons in the NFL. Stat 3: Cole Kmet didn’t post over 50 receiving yards in any game last season, but did consistently finish around the 20 mark each game – that’s all we’re looking for here! Stat 4: Following the news of Jordan Mason’s injury, Aaron Jones has been elevated to RB1 and should be handed the bulk of the carries. Rookie Demond Claiborne will be involved, but will likely only get a few touches. 🏈 Back our 15/1 Bears vs Vikings bet builder at bet365 🏈 📺 Chicago Bears vs Minnesota Vikings game details Date: Sunday 20th September 2026 Time: 6pm BST Stadium: Soldier Field, Chicago TV/Streaming: Sky Sports (either as the selected live game or follow via RedZone), NFL Game Pass (DAZN) About the author Craig Mahood Craig Mahood is an expert in sports betting and online casinos and has worked with the company since 2020.
