Chelsea’s Instagram raided by thousands of Kazakhstan fans after ‘trialist’ scores seven minutes into pre-season clash

CHELSEA’S Instagram has been raided by fans in Kazakhstan praising Dastan Satpayev – with one post of his goal gathering more than one million likes. The 17-year-old “trialist” scored just seven minutes into Chelsea‘s pre-season clash against Western Sydney Wanderers on Tuesday. Satpayev was found in open space as he cruised past Western Sydney’s defence to score in the top-right corner. Sign up for the Football newsletter Thank you! Chelsea’s Instagram post has gained more than 1 million likes and 359,300 comments – although they may not all be from Kazakhstan. One fan said: “All my friends here😂 OOO Dastan Satpayev👏👏👏 🇰🇿🇰🇿🇰🇿💙💙💙.” Another commented: “You’re a great player from Kazakhstan. Well done! Keep it up and keep moving forward💙🇰🇿😍.” Satpayev’s contribution was the first of ten goals as the Blues picked up a 6-4 win at Stadium Australia. A £3.3 million deal was agreed between Chelsea and Kazakhstan Premier League side Kairat Almaty last year. This was set to kick in when Satpayev turns 18 on Wednesday, August 12. But he was still listed as a “trialist” for their game against the Wanderers as he waits to be officially registered. Striker Satpayev had a breakthrough 2025 season as he scored 14 goals in 26 league appearances to help Kairat win the Kazakhstan Premier League. He went on to become the first Kazakh player to score in the Champions League proper against FC Copenhagen. The teenager is also the youngest player in Kazakhstan’s international history as he debuted as a 16-year-old against Curacao in March 2025. Satpayev is now one of nine strikers battling to become Chelsea’s first-choice at the start of the season. Head coach Alonso has looked to build experience with Danny Welbeck, 35, and Jordan Henderson, 36, on their way in.
