Mudryk reportedly prefers a move to Elland Road but talks with the Whites are finished for the time being. He has not played football since November 2024, when he netted in a Uefa Conference League win over German outfit Heidenheim. Mudryk was later suspended after testing positive for banned substance meldonium. He was handed a four-year ban at the time but has now successfully appealed and is free to resume his career. Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso has welcomed Mudryk back into the squad but remained coy on his future this week. He said: “We will see, we still have time to decide, and we don’t have to rush on many decisions and at the right time we will take them, at the moment not yet.” Most read in Sport BEST ONLINE CASINOS – TOP SITES IN THE UK Leeds boss Daniel Farke was also quizzed on the possibility of signing Mudryk after their 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest this weekend. He refused to name-drop Mudryk specifically but insisted the team were “always open” to sign “good players”. Farke said: “I’m not sure if I ever mentioned the profile or opposition. I can’t really remember it. “But for good players we are always open. Like I mentioned, I’m happy with my squad. “We have replaced some important players with really good talented young players. “But I will also make sure that they’re pushed to the last day of this window for giving this club the best possible squad. And we’ll see then in which position. “I don’t want to speak too much about profiles or positions, because if I speak too much about it, then the price goes up and we work sustainably. “So for that behind the scenes our people do a lot and for that not too much about names or profiles anyhow. We just work on it.” Mudryk has played 73 times for Chelsea since his £80m move from Shakhtar in 2022, scoring ten times. Top football travel deals Comment now
