He also has Premier League experience and would have been happy to take a one-year deal with an option for another. Sign up for the Football newsletter Thank you! SunSport understands that Bissouma has interest from Ajax and Monaco, too although he would have preferred to stay in the Premier League. Chelsea experienced one of the most extraordinary summer transfer deadline days when they thought they had agreed a fee for Monaco’s rising star Lamine Camara. SunSport first reported Chelsea’s interest, along with growing interest in Lamine from Premier League clubs, ahead of the deadline-day chaos. The Blues had targeted the Senegalese star as a replacement for Enzo Fernandez, who left for Manchester City for a British-record fee of £125million. But in a twist of fate, Monaco pulled the plug on the deal at the 11th hour, leaving Chelsea with little time to react. Since then, the Blues have been linked with former Liverpool man Georginio Wijnaldum, even though Sun sources at the club say Chelsea will not be making a move for the 35-year-old. If they were to sign a free-agent midfielder lthis summer, then a move for the Senegal midfielder in January would be very unlikely. But it’s not only Bissouma, there are a number of free agents who could be really interesting for Chelsea, one of them being former Manchester United man Paul Pogba, who has now left Monaco. Like Bissouma, Pogba could offer a short term solution if need be. But if they decided against signing anyone now then they could be forced to add to their midfield in the winter, especially if there is a genuine chance that a new signing could significantly boost their title challenge. Below is a list of some of the free agents that Chelsea could call on if they needed an emergnecy back up. Comment now
