The striker endured a frustrating first season at Chelsea, scoring just twice in all competitions as the club finished outside the European places and suffered FA Cup final heartbreak against Manchester City. His form has also failed to convince new boss Xabi Alonso during pre-season. That has left Delap among a number of first-team players who could be moved on before the transfer window closes on September 1.
