The MLS club have reportedly turned their attention to the ex-Real Madrid, Chelsea, Atletico Madrid and Juventus star, after giving up on pursuing another former Chelsea striker in Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian reportedly wants to stay in Europe. Embracing the football scene in America might suit Morata, who failed to score a Serie A goal for Como last season, despite making 26 appearances. He captained world champions Spain to Euros glory just two years ago, as they defeated Gareth Southgate‘s England 2-1. Following his dream summer on the international stage, the Chelsea flop earned a move to AC Milan. However, halfway through the campaign he was shipped out to Turkish giants Galatasaray for a loan spell. However, playing under his former Chelsea team-mate didn’t seem to spark the connection they had back in 2018/19. He managed ZERO goals in 26 Serie A appearances, with his only joy in a Como shirt coming in the Coppa Italia. Despite his below-par performances, Como were forced to activate Morata’s buy option and signed him permanently.
