But now he is back in the Prem in a new role, having joined Keith Andrews‘ backroom staff as assistant manager in June. Fans were surprised and delighted to see the icon on their broadcasts, taking to social media to check their eyes were not deceiving them. The former Chelsea man also starred for Blackburn Rovers and Fulham during his 19-year playing career. Duff went straight into coaching after retiring while playing for Shamrock Rovers in 2015, holding roles with Celtic and his beloved national team. He finally got his break in senior management with Irish outfit Shelbourne in 2021, but stepped down last year before landing his Brentford job.
