Chase raises credit card fee by $100

NerdWallet reports that the Chase Air Canada Aeroplan Credit Card — which was previously called the Aeroplan Credit Card — is now offering some new features. These include up to five Aeroplan points per $1 spent on Air Canada purchases (it was three points previously) as well as three points per $1 spent on travel and two per $1 spent on gas.The Chase Air Canada Aeroplan also allows for cardholders to receive a 15 percent discount on eligible Air Canada flights. There’s also a limited time welcome bonus of up to 115,000 points.However, Yahoo! Finance notes that this new card now comes with a $195 annual fee. Previously, that fee was $95. Current Chase Air Canada Aeroplan Credit Card users will have access to both new and old benefits for now. Then, as of Jan. 1, 2027, everyone will transfer to the new benefits.The new $195 annual fee will be due that same year on their cardholder anniversary date.
