The upcoming spy thriller show from MGM+ and the BBC adapts John le Carré's global bestselling novel The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, along with content from his 2017 novel A Legacy of Spies. Matthew Macfadyen plays spymaster George Smiley, while Hunnam portrays field operative Alec Leamas. Now, MGM+ and the BBC have released the first-look images of Hunnam as Leamas and Macfadyen as Smiley in Legacy of Spies, along with the announcement that filming has wrapped. Leamas can be seen standing outside at night in front of a sign, on which the letters "FLUGH" are visible. Smiley is wearing glasses, along with a suit and tie. Check out the images below: The previously confirmed cast joining Hunnam and Macfadyen in the series includes Daniel Brühl as Josef Fiedler, Devrim Lingnau Islamoğlu as Doris Quinz, Agnes O'Casey as Liz Gold, Felix Kammerer as Hans-Dieter Mundt, Dan Stevens as Bill Haydon, Jake Dunn as Peter Guillam, Anjana Vasan as Connie Sachs, Charlotte Ritchie as Ann Smiley, Joe Alwyn as Jim Prideaux, and Hugh Laurie as Control. Set during the Cold War, Legacy of Spies' story kicks off with Leamas recruiting Doris, who is from East Germany, to smuggle high-value documents into the West. She is pursued by Fiedler and Mundt, who work for East Germany's secret police, known as the Stasi, and they are determined to shut down the intelligence leak before it is too late. Meanwhile, Smiley operates behind-the-scenes with a Soviet mastermind, and the idealistic Liz Gold finds herself in the center of the conflict as well. More to come...
