Charlie Hall To Star In College Fraternity Drug Ring Comedy Series In Works At Netflix Under Alec Berg Overall Deal

Netflix is developing a Charlie Hall/Alec Berg comedy series. Hall (Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed) will star in and write the untitled project, with Alec Berg (Barry) serving as the executive producer and supervising writer under an overall deal he signed with the streamer earlier this year. The Hall/Berg project is described as a fictional comedy series about a college fraternity drug ring, loosely inspired by recent events and allegations. Those recent events and allegations would be the case involving 14 people — current and former Penn State students and one parent — who were charged in an alleged cocaine-trafficking ring operating out of the Sigma Chi and Delta Upsilon off-campus fraternity houses. Berg and Amy Solomon executive produce via Berg’s production banner. Watch on Deadline The untitled comedy teams up Hall with Berg, who was writer-producer on Hall’s mom, Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ hit sitcom, Seinfeld. Berg went on to serve as executive producer/showrunner on HBO’s Silicon Valley and co-create executive produce HBO’s Barry alongside star Bill Hader. He is repped by UTA and HJTH. Hall is series regular on Apple TV’s recent entry Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed, whose future is in limbo. He will next be seen in Season 4 of Mike White’s HBO series The White Lotus. Hall is repped by CAA and Untitled Entertainment. Solomon is repped by UTA.
