Charity’s Emmerdale future bleak as she is charged with murder and accepts the end

Time has ran out (Picture: ITV) A little shove in the heat of the moment leaves Emmerdale’s Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) facing a murder charge. She didn’t even commit the crime, but covering for her granddaughter Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) means Charity is now facing life behind bars. Sarah shoved Dr Todd (Caroline Harker) after overhearing how she raped Charity. Sarah snapped and lunged at the evil doc, the push sent Todd flying and she cracked her head on a table, dying instantly. This left the pair in a pickle as Sarah freaked out that she’d killed a woman while Charity immediately set about plotting how to dispose of the body. Serena (Casey Al-Shaqsy) dropped in and found herself in the middle of a cover up. Charity and Serena worked together to make it look like Charity was defending herself from her attacker, even going as far as taking the dead woman’s hand and scratching Charity’s forearm to mock up a fight. That’s the least of their problems. The actual issue is the fact that the evidence does not match their version of events. DS Ramsden (Chelsea Edge) shows up to cart Charity off to the station to tell her that something is off – her story of a tussle doesn’t quite make sense. Things escalate, and Charity is charged with murder and she’s placed on remand. Charity is now behind bars and out of options. Producer Sophie Roper explained that Sarah will be in a different kind of prison.
