If Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) has to tell another lie to protect Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) in Emmerdale, then that is exactly what she’s going to do. Sarah killed Doctor Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) a couple of days ago. She had walked in on a showdown between Dr Todd and Charity, and shoved the evil surgeon in an attempt to defend herself and her gran. Caitlin fell, hit her head on a table, and died. In the immediate aftermath, Serena Sugden (Casey Al-Shaqsy) helped Sarah and Charity create a cover story. DS Ramsden (Chelsea Edge) then arrived and took Charity in for questioning once she had stated that she killed Caitlin. When she returned to the Woolpack with Sarah, the two of them faced questioning from their concerned family members. Overwhelmed, Charity ended up telling her loved ones that Dr Todd sexually assaulted her. While this bombshell stunned everyone into silence, Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) was outside, certain that his partner was hiding something else. Charity pushed Mackenzie away, telling him that she really thought her husband would be on her side. The problem is, Mack wasn’t ever going to just ignore the niggling thoughts in his mind about Charity. In today’s episode of the ITV soap, he told his wife that he’d figured out what really happened. Hiding her relief that Mack hadn’t worked out the actual truth, Charity lied and told him that he was right, she did murder Caitlin. Mackenzie later confronted Sarah and said that he knows what really happened to Dr Todd. She kept quiet, not wanting to give anything away. Once Sarah realised that Mack was believing a different story, she listened as he told her that she needs to ‘pull it together’ because the police may pick up on her behaviour and work out that she’s hiding something. The possibility of the truth being revealed is pretty high, let’s be honest.
