Celebrity Traitors stars Joe Wilkinson and Joe Marler are teaming up again for a new show.The comedian, 51, and former rugby union player, 36, both appeared on the first season of The Traitors spin-off series, which aired last year.They are now set to star in another series together – taking their friendship not on the road, but on the water.Currently titled The Friend Ship, the six-episode series sees Wilkinson whisking Marler off on a break that will fulfil a lifelong dream – an adventure across the UK that finishes at the Falkirk Wheel, which connects two separate stretches of canal.Joe Marler is starring in a new BBC boating show (Ian West/PA)PA ArchiveAlong the way they will make various stops, including in North Wales, the West Country, Birmingham, the Pennines, London and Edinburgh – while also meeting groups of friends from all walks of life and settling into the pace of canal life.The BBC has teased the series will be an “unconventional and revealing boat trip along Britain’s waterways that celebrates the joy of connection, community and spending quality time with your mates”.It added: “This is a journey of discovery in more ways than one, that will see them navigate complex lock systems, cramped canal boat cabins, and the male loneliness epidemic – all while getting to know each other (and each other’s most irritating habits) better than ever, as their new friendship is put to its greatest test yet.”Wilkinson said: “I love canals, I love Joe Marler, I love drizzle.
