Which Celebrity Traitors star do you think will be the first to go? (Picture: BBC/Studio Lambert/Euan Cherry) Warning: spoilers ahead for Celebrity Traitors season 2 episode 1. The first episode of Celebrity Traitors season 2 already has the nation spiralling, claiming it’s one of the best episodes on TV this year. Within minutes of Claudia Winkleman choosing her Traitors, Richard E Grant happily told the other contestants that he was a Traitor, smiling gleefully before realising his possible catastrophic mistake. At the end of the episode, he and fellow Traitor Maya Jama had a big decision to make – to recruit or murder either James Acaster or Amol Rajan to join their ranks as a third comrade. The cliffhanger sent viewers into a spiral. Who would be the first celebrity to be murdered, before they’d had a chance to engage in a fully-fledged roundtable debate? However, some believe they already know who’s going to stay, following reports of filming on the BBC series having to be temporarily halted – but we’ll have to wait until Friday night to know for sure. Don't forget to turn on notifications! ‘The show is incredibly intense, and during one particular scene at the castle, James became very anxious and panicked,’ the insider said. ‘Some of the other celebrities on the show spoke up and said cameras should stop rolling so he could calm down, and production were in agreement as well.’ In response, a BBC spokesperson told Metro: ‘The Traitors is a unique and immersive game, and we recognise that taking part can be intense at times. ‘Our highest priority is always the safety and welfare of everyone taking part. Players are closely monitored and supported throughout by production, which includes a dedicated and experienced welfare team.’ Following this report, some Celebrity Traitors fans don’t think that this moment has come to pass yet, and therefore James is likely going to be saved by Richard and Maya, and Amol murdered. While this is just a theory at this point, several people are convinced. Richard immediately gave away that he’s a Traitor to his confused co-stars (Picture: BBC/Studio Lambert/Euan Cherry) Does Maya have what it takes to go all the way? (Picture: BBC/Studio Lambert/Euan Cherry) ‘I will be shook if they don’t recruit James,’ one X user called Wandoful said, while Madelyn added: ‘He must last longer!’ However, other fans interpreted the report in a different way, that perhaps this was the moment where James became ‘distressed’. ‘I’m starting to think this was the moment production got halted,’ Mariah speculated, while Megan wrote: ‘Is this the part James got distressed at so essentially we know he’s gonna get murdered?’ Diehard Traitors fans have also highlighted the fact that it would be a smart move for Richard and Maya to pick James, considering the comedian has been one of the only people pointing the finger at the Withnail and I actor. This means that down the line, Richard and Maya could decide to throw James under the bus so that the Faithfuls can successfully find at least one Traitor.
