Celebrity Traitors fans convinced one star has made huge blunder: ‘Guilty as hell’

Celebrity Traitors season 2 has only just begun – but one star has apparently already caused a major slip-up in the castle. Tonight, one of the BBC’s most popular shows finally returned following last year’s enormously successful debut, which saw Alan Carr crowned the winner after giggling his way to the top of the turret as a treacherous Traitor. Tonight, a new cast of celebrities were welcomed to Ardross Castle in Scotland by host Claudia Winkleman, who selected her Traitors with an immediate twist: instead of picking the usual three, she only chose two. They are: Withnail and I actor Richard E Grant and Love Island presenter Maya Jama. As usual, Claudia chose her Traitors by walking around the roundtable while the contestants had their blindfolds on, and secretly indicating to her chosen two by touching them subtly. Richard E Grant admitted he made a huge mistake telling everyone he’s a Traitor – but luckily, they didn’t seem to believe him (Picture: BBC) Richard, 69, couldn’t contain his excitement, telling his co-stars after mere minutes that he was a Traitor. Luckily for him, considering how ridiculous the actual truth sounded, it convinced several of them that he was actually a Faithful. When all of the celebrities took their blindfolds off, adjusting to the light in the roundtable room, Maya’s reaction was fairly over the top, squinting as though she’d been asleep for a week and then looking around the room at everyone else. Her overreaction didn’t go unnoticed by viewers, who felt as though she’d spoiled her identity as a Traitor before she’d even had a chance to commit her first murder. Did any celebrities notice Maya’s overreaction at the roundtable? (Picture: BBC) ‘Maya Jama smirking like that is quite bait 😂,’ Celebrity Traitors fan Roy wrote on X. ‘Sorry but Maya relax your eyes,’ Celen remarked, while Ikra stated: ‘Feel like Maya Jama will be found out instantly 🤣.’ ‘Maya looks guilty as hell 😂😂😂😂,’ Nikerlina claimed, while Jack also shared: ‘Maya was serving Dynasty era Joan Collins when she took her mask off. Subtle.’ ‘Traitor Maya Jama smirking at the table already,’ Ems commented. So will Maya be found out, or could she be a smoother Traitor than some viewers realise? We’ll have to wait and see! To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video At the beginning of episode one, all of the celebrities made their way to the Traitors chapel exchanging pleasantries before the game began. Following Claudia’s epic entrance in a coffin, she asked the contestants to vote for who they thought was the most trustworthy amongst them, with Coronation Street actress Julie Hesmondhalgh winning the vote. Claudia informed Julie that she was to be given two shields, which she could give to anyone to protect them from murder. Julie chose to keep a shield for herself, and give the second to the person who tried to protect her from a possible early exit, comedian Joe Lycett. When they all arrived at the castle, Richard immediately admitted to Rob Beckett that he dreamed of becoming a Traitor – and if he was a Faithful, he would still try to kill his competitors where possible. Several stars admitted to Claudia that they would relish being a Traitor, including The Last of Us actor Bella Ramsey, University Challenge host Amol Rajan, and comedian Rob Beckett. But in the end, Richard and Maya were her choices – and what a pair they make. Let’s stay tuned to find out how this murderous bloodbath unfolds.
