Cécred Restoring Lash & Brow Builder: An Honest Review After a Month of Testing

5 min readI like to draw attention to my eyes with makeup. My brows and lashes are my favorite step of the routine. Even when I’m in a rush with no time for foundation or blush, I will always take a minute to apply clear brow gel and a couple coats of jet black mascara before running out the door. (In a pinch, I can even apply both products on a moving train or in the backseat of a cab with zero smudges!)Since I love eye makeup so much, I try to take my lash and brow health seriously (keyword, try). I never sleep with makeup on and always cleanse at the end of each day. My only fault: I love to wear falsies on occasion for a full-glam look, and sometimes—if I apply the adhesive too closely to my lash line—I have to sacrifice a few follicles in the removal process. So, I’ve been on the hunt for a good lash and brow serum to help with regrowth. The search was fruitless, until recently.A household name and a global phenomenon in the music industry, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter founded the iconic haircare brand Cécred (pronounced sacred) in 2024. The brand is centered on developing “rich conditioners and fortifying protein, advanced science and fermentation, sensorial luxury and exceptional performance” to strengthen, lengthen, and moisturize all hair types, per the About Page. Their bestselling products include the Cécred Moisturizing Deep Conditioner ($40), Cécred Nourishing Hair Oil ($45), and Cécred Reconstructing Treatment Mask ($44).Another bestseller (and a 2025 Women’s Health Beauty Award Winner for Best Edge Product) is the Cécred Restoring Hair & Edge Drops: a daily hair-growth serum that feels cool on the scalp. The lightweight liquid promotes hair density, without the added build-up and grease, according to their website. Cécred says their target users are those “experiencing visible shedding or thinning from stress, hormones, life changes, postpartum, GLP-1 medications, protective styles, chemical processing, high-tension styles, heat damage or other hair thinning concerns.”In response to popularity of the hair and edge drops, Cécred just dropped their latest product—the Restoring Lash & Brow Builder. I was lucky enough to sample the product a few weeks before the official launch today. Here are my honest, unfiltered thoughts.ProsFree of prostaglandins, so non-irritatingWorks in just a few weeksEasy to apply brushConsDidn't show as dramatic a transformation on browsThis prostaglandin-free growth serum boosted our tester’s fringe in just four weeks. What is the Cécred Restoring Lash & Brow Builder? The Cécred Restoring Lash & Brow Builder ($48) is a skinny black tube with a thin brush to be applied nightly on the lash line and brows. According to the brand, the product is “clinically tested to visibly improve density for longer lashes & thicker-looking brows in just 30 days.” The serum targets growth and strength without prostaglandin or prostaglandin analogues, which are ingredients that may irritate some and could lead to other side effects like eye twitching and discoloration. As a gentle solution to other serums on the market, the Restoring Lash & Brow Builder aims to increase hair follicle density using a proprietary biopeptide-5 and the brand’s patent-pending bioactive keratin ferment. The product is available on cecred.com today, and in-store at ULTA Beauty on September 19.How I Used the Cécred Restoring Lash & Brow BuilderI applied the Cécred Restoring Lash & Brow Builder before bed, after washing my face and applying a lightweight moisturizer everywhere except my eyes and brows. I brushed a thin layer on my brows and lash line, allowing 30 minutes to an hour for it to dry completely before going to sleep (so that the product wouldn’t just rub off on my pillow). I immediately found that the serum itched my eyes a little bit, especially when applied too thickly (yes, I made this mistake more than once). When it got on my eye, it burned a lot until I rinsed with soap and water.Shop the Cécred Restoring Lash & Brow BuilderOverall, though, the discomfort wasn’t too bad. I kept reminding myself not to rub my eyes (even when I felt a bit itchy) to get the most of the product. The only real negative was the super, crusty feeling in my eyes, and slight redness, in the morning. After washing my face with a gentle cleanser—and occasionally using eyedrops—the crust and redness went away. And after week two, the redness was not as noticeable (though the pesky crust was definitely still there). My ResultsAt first, I doubted the efficacy of the Cécred Restoring Lash & Brow Builder. But then by week three I began to notice a difference in my lash length. It wasn’t entirely visible when staring at my bare face in the mirror, but when I applied the same amount of mascara that I normally would I saw a major difference. My lashes suddenly appeared longer, and a bit fuller, as if I were wearing falsies (aha!).Unfortunately, I didn’t notice much of a difference in my brows—but then again, they weren’t really my priority in hair regrowth. My brows have always looked relatively okay in terms of thickness, and I rarely even fill them in anymore. They weren’t my focus in testing the Cécred Restoring Lash & Brow Builder, so I was not upset to find zero difference in growth there.Shop the Cécred Restoring Lash & Brow BuilderI did not see any lash or brow hairs falling out in the process of testing the Cécred Restoring Lash & Brow Builder, nor did I notice any rashes or bumps pop up. My lashes did feel a bit droopy (for lack of better word) around week two, but I attributed that to the new growth process. Now, my lashes really look like they are growing—I even find myself using less coats of mascara. I enjoyed trying out the Cécred Restoring Lash & Brow Builder serum. And it was easy to remember to apply it each night by keeping it on my nightstand. The Bottom Line: Is the Cécred Restoring Lash & Brow Builder Worth It?I would definitely recommend the Cécred Restoring Lash & Brow Builder to those looking for a lash regrowth product. It’s easy to apply and I saw results after three to four weeks of consistent use. I find that my eyes even look more defined now than in the past (a win!) when I apply eyeliner and mascara. Those who experience eye or skin sensitivity may want to proceed with caution. I did see redness in my eyes during the first few weeks of use, and had more crust by morning time than usual, which was not fun. These cons didn’t turn me away from the product though, and the redness started to go away over time. The Cécred Restoring Lash & Brow Builder enhanced my makeup look, and I’m happy that it’s made its way into my hair growth care lineup.Shop the Cécred Restoring Lash & Brow BuilderNia Watson is an editorial intern at Women’s Health.
