CBSE opens Class 10 post-result window for answer books, verification and re-evaluation

CBSE has opened the post-result process for Class 10 students from the 2026 Main and Second Board exams. Students must follow a three-stage online route, with revised marks treated as final. Students who appeared for the 2026 Main and Second Board examinations can apply online in three stagesThe Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the post-result facilities for Class 10 students who appeared in the 2026 Main Board and Second Board examinations.The board will allow students to obtain scanned copies of their evaluated answer books, apply for verification of marks and seek re-evaluation of specific answers through an online process.According to the notification issued on August 5, the facilities will be available in three stages. Students must first obtain a scanned copy of their evaluated answer book before applying for verification of marks or re-evaluation. The Main Board examination results were declared on April 15, while the Second Board examination results were announced on July 18.THREE STAGE PROCESSCBSE has retained the same sequence for post-result applications: Stage 1: Obtain a scanned copy of the evaluated answer bookStage 2: Apply for verification of marks after reviewing the answer book Stage 3: Seek re-evaluation of one or more answers, if requiredThe board clarified that re-evaluation will be allowed only after the candidate has obtained the scanned copy and completed the verification stage, wherever applicable.SCHEDULE, FEES ANNOUNCEDStudents can apply for a scanned copy of their evaluated answer book from August 5 to August 9 by paying Rs 300 per subject. After reviewing the scanned copy, they may apply for verification of marks, re-evaluation, or both from August 16 to August 19. The fee for verification of marks is Rs 300 per answer book, while re-evaluation costs Rs 100 per question, including all sub-questions. Students opting for both services will have to pay Rs 300 per answer book for verification, along with Rs 100 per question for re-evaluation.CBSE has advised students to carefully examine their scanned answer books before applying for verification or re-evaluation. The board clarified that verification includes checking for errors such as unevaluated answers, totaling mistakes or discrepancies in transferring marks.For re-evaluation, candidates can request a review only of specific questions. The marks awarded after re-evaluation, whether increased, decreased or unchanged, will be treated as final.
