CBSE, NCERT train teachers on new Class 9 maths and science textbooks

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), in collaboration with the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), organised an orientation workshop for teachers on the newly introduced Class 9 Mathematics and Science textbooks.The workshop was held at the CBSE Integrated Office Complex in Dwarka, New Delhi, to familiarise teachers with the structure, approach and classroom implementation of the revised textbooks.A total of 110 teachers from CBSE-affiliated schools participated in the workshop. The group included 58 Mathematics teachers and 52 Science teachers, along with representatives from Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS).WHAT TEACHERS LEARNT IN THE WORKSHOPThe sessions were conducted by experts from NCERT, who explained the vision behind the new textbooks and how teachers can effectively use them in classrooms. The discussions focused on:Competency-based teaching methods to help students apply concepts rather than rely only on memorisation.
