Skip to main content Tony Romo Photo by Tim Nwachukwu/Getty Images CBS Sports NFL analyst Tony Romo has been put on leave following his arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence. “Tony Romo is on leave from his role at CBS Sports until further notice,” a statement from the network read. CBS said that JJ Watt will join Jim Nantz and Tracy Wolfson as CBS Sports’ lead NFL team during Romo’s absence. They plan to release the rest of their NFL on CBS roster at a later date. Per the Associated Press, Romo, a former Dallas Cowboys quarterback, was arrested on July 23 after he was stopped by the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office on I-43. An open bottle of alcoholic beverage was found in the passenger side of the vehicle, per the AP. He was taken into custody after field sobriety tests. Romo, 46, joined CBS in 2017 after he announced his retirement. He signed with the Cowboys in 2003.
