SPOILERS ahead about Tracker season 4, episode 4.Colter’s support team finally found some stability in Tracker season 4, episode 4. A fundamental aspect of the crime drama and immeasurable help to Colter, Reenie, Randy, and Mel only became his team officially in this formation in Tracker season 3. While Reenie had been saving Colter from legal trouble since the very beginning, Colter’s immediate team was originally comprised of Velma and Teddi, and Bobby as tech support. However, Teddi leaving after Tracker season 1 upended the balance of Colter’s team, forcing Velma to join Reenie. Things only got worse with Bobby’s prolonged absence in Tracker season 2. The affairs that kept him away were never thoroughly explained by the CBS crime drama, but his absence forced his cousin Randy’s introduction, and how well he and Colter collaborated eventually made Randy’s promotion as part of Colter’s core team possible, especially as Bobby and Velma both exited ahead of Tracker season 3. All these original characters' exits effectively left Tracker season 3 with only Randy and Reenie to support Colter, and at a vulnerable time too, given Reenie’s abduction in season 2’s second-to-last episode. Mel’s arrival switched things up. After Tracker spent the entirety of season 3 making them into a strong team who could weather the storm of facing a colossal, disreputable company in court and win, losing their office was the last straw. The uncertainty surrounding their circumstances continued in Tracker season 4, but Reenie, Randy, and Mel finally found a new base in Tracker season 4, episode 4. Reenie, Randy, & Mel Finally Get A New Office In Tracker Season 4 CBS Each episode in Tracker season 4 made a point to highlight how burdensome it had been for Colter’s team not to have an office that was all theirs. That was the case even in Tracker season 4, episode 4’s beginning, as Reenie only signed a lease at the end of the episode. However, what made their reaction to not having their own office puzzling was how negatively affected they were by that development. Beyond Randy’s recurring complaints about not having a proper chair to sit on, the research for the perfect office generated different reactions. Mel indefatigably proposed new options and set up new meetings, while Reenie seemed oddly put off by any office they visited, and even when she wasn’t, she didn’t seem in a rush to find a substitute, in complete opposition to Randy’s need to find an office that was solely theirs as soon as possible. The reactions seemed particularly confusing in light of their being able to take all the time they needed, as in the meantime, Maxine had given them a place to work from. It’s unclear whether the closer attention to the different reactions of Colter’s team in Tracker season 4 made a point to highlight Reenie and Maxine’s closer friendship or Randy and Mel’s perfect teamwork, but that time has nevertheless passed with Reenie, Randy, and Mel finally finding an office in Tracker season 4, episode 4’s ending, and one with a rich history and complex layers at that. How Having A Set HQ For Colter's Team Impacts Tracker Season 4's Storytelling CBS Reenie, Randy, and Mel having their own office in Tracker season 4 positively impacts their ability to help Colter, as they can finally set up their own place as they want, in a way that can serve their needs in relation to Colter and how they want to present themselves to their clients. They had already done something similar to their original office in Tracker season 3, which proved particularly useful, especially when they had to stall the FBI in order to delete all files related to Colter in Tracker season 3, episode 10. However, having their own office also helps separate Reenie, Randy, and Mel from Maxine’s company. While Tracker season 3 established Maxine and Reenie’s friendship with relative ease after a rocky start in their investigation, sharing the building put them too close to one another. While that could be good personally, the peculiarity of Colter’s job and his need for privacy could have made Maxine’s drop-in visits to Reenie’s temporary office a problem in the long run. Reenie, Mel, and Randy having their own headquarters can also make Colter’s visit possible in Tracker season 4. It would have been unlikely for them to reunite all under one roof if they were still in Maxine’s building, but having their own space makes a reunion of Colter with his team much likelier in Tracker season 4, as well as making the streamlining of their support operation for Colter’s job possible.
