SPOILERS ahead about Tracker season 4, episode 3.One development in Tracker season 4 hints at one rule of Colter Shaw potentially being broken in the near future. The start of CBS’s 2026-2027 TV cycle was not subdued at all for Tracker, whose season 4 premiere showcased its momentous change of location from Vancouver to Los Angeles in all its glory. The shift didn’t influence the typical setting of each episode being different, and Tracker season 4, episode 3 proved that by bringing Colter to Texas. Colter’s visit to the Lone Star State nonetheless introduced a new story that hasn’t been a part of Tracker for a while. Despite its significant revelations, Tracker season 3’s finale has yet to actively influence Colter’s season 4 story. After all, even if Russell learned something about Colter’s past from McIntyre, its only outcome had been Russell avoiding Colter and disappearing to take care of McIntyre’s problem. This left Tracker’s overarching narratives to be sidelined in favor of its case-of-the-week, as each episode in season 4 introduced a new interesting case for Colter, but no story arc that could easily be developed in the near future, bar one. Indeed, in between cases, Tracker season 4, episode 3 introduced Jenna (Gillian Bolt) as Colter’s point of contact for spare auto parts in his quest to fix up his father’s truck. Their connection nevertheless hinted at something else going on between them, with their arrangement to meet up to visit a barbecue place together soon clearly foreshadowing a budding romance between Colter and Jenna. Tracker Season 4 Gives Colter A Steady Romance CBS It would be remiss not to acknowledge that nothing technically romantic happened between Colter and Jenna in Tracker season 4, episode 3. Their banter was clearly indicative of some interest from both sides, and the knowledge they had about one another’s lives also made it easy to believe that a romance between the two could have a future. Still, Jenna’s call at the end of the episode worked brilliantly to set up their first date through her reminders of their policy to only keep a spare part aside for two weeks. Jenna’s call thus established a timeline of when her and Colter’s romance could progress. Colter moving through the country for his cases offers them an advantage in the case of their dating, especially now that he is fixing up Ashton’s truck, making frequent visits to Jenna and her father possible. At the same time, it’s also known that Colter’s job makes it difficult for him to maintain a stable relationship, and he often used a case somewhere else as an excuse not to get closer to his friends in the past. Throughout Tracker, Colter had flings that were contingent on his case-of-the-week, in the sense that his moving around only allowed that type of relationship. Still, Colter did embark on a relationship in Tracker season 2 with Camille, but that could also not be separated from a case, and after Colter solved the murder of Camille’s long-disappeared sister, they parted ways. This makes the development of Jenna and Colter’s romance particularly atypical, as Tracker rarely featured something similar. Will Colter's Romance With Jenna Last In Tracker CBS It’s unclear whether Colter and Jenna’s romance will last or for how long. What is confirmed is Gillian Bolt’s return as Jenna for Tracker season 4, episode 4, “Purification,” ensuring that we won’t have to wait too long to see that story arc be developed. However, Russell’s return in Tracker season 4, episode 5 makes it unlikely for Jenna and Colter’s romance to be tackled in that instance, as whatever case prompts Russell and Colter’s cooperation will be complicated enough for romance to take a step back in the story. The nature of Colter’s rewardist job carrying him from one state to the next has the potential to hurt any stable relationship he might wish to form. However, it’s worth acknowledging that Colter and Camille’s relationship in Tracker season 2 didn’t end because Colter was never around, but because it had become indissolubly linked to the trauma of Camille losing her sister. Given its early stages, Jenna and Colter’s relationship could go either way. However, even if it has a chance to continue and thrive, the threat of the secret Russell discovered about Colter and Ashton in Tracker season 3’s ending hangs over everything in Colter’s life, and depending on how dark it is, it might very well destroy their relationship before it even has a chance to flourish.
