Cat out of the bag? Pentagon embraces 'directed energy weapons'

The Pentagon is now officially embracing directed energy weapons (DEWs), which promise to offer a cheaper and more precise way to neutralize threats compared to traditional weaponry. These DEWs could range from laser systems to microwave technology, and while they open up new possibilities for battlefield efficiency, there's also concern about potential misuse and ethical implications. This move marks a significant shift in military strategy, reflecting the evolving nature of warfare in the 21st century. It's crucial to consider both the benefits and risks as the U.S. military integrates these advanced technologies.
