| Soaps Reporter Published July 31, 2026 9:39am Updated July 31, 2026 9:39am Poor Cassie! (Picture: ITV) The following article contains spoilers from the episode of Coronation Street dated July 31. It hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX and YouTube. Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) has lost her entire family in Coronation Street – and it’s all Ross Wilkes’ (Ian Burfield) fault. The character has hugely struggled with the arrival of Ross, who is Tyrone Dobbs’ (Alan Halsall) biological father. Up until this week, Cassie kept her secret about Ross hidden from everyone. She eventually blurted it out, due to not being able to stand watching her loved ones get to know him. Cassie told Tyrone that she was forced to have sex with Ross when she was 15 years old, which eventually resulted in her falling pregnant. Tyrone was horrified and marched over to confront Ross, but unfortunately fell for his dad’s comments about him being a changed man and how he regrets what happened in the past. Tyrone and his family gave Ross another chance, and Cassie just had to quietly force a smile. When she was alone a while later, Cassie was utterly terrified when Ross pinned her against the wall. He said that if she comes between him and Ty again, he’ll kill her. Desperate to get rid of Ross, Cassie spied an opportunity to sabotage the new life he was trying to build. She stole some of Tyrone’s painkillers and hid them in Ross’ drink. She was hoping that he’d drink it and then sabotage his drugs test for his new job. Cassie’s plan didn’t work (Picture: ITV) Sadly, Ross managed to work out what Cassie was up to. With the dodgy drink in his hand, he tricked Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) into consuming the liquid instead. Tracy was rushed to hospital and in today’s episode of the ITV soap, word got round that she had been spiked with medication. Returning home, Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) was devastated when he found a pill packet in Cassie’s jacket. Tracy had previously accused her of putting her in hospital, due to the fact she’s got form for poisoning people’s drinks. Steve didn’t want to accept it, but the packet hiding among Cassie’s belongings certainly looked as though Tracy was right. Evil Ross has managed to destroy Cassie’s life on the cobbles (Picture: ITV) Cassie tried to tell Steve and Tyrone that Ross has set her up, but they were tired of her comments. Steve shut the door on Cassie’s face, and she was left all alone on the cobbles. With Claire Sweeney’s exit looming, it seems Cassie has burnt all her bridges in Weatherfield.
