A fan wrote on social media: “Ancelotti and Tuchel must still be regretting leaving Joao Pedro and Palmer out of the World Cup squad. Now they’re making sure they don’t miss a single game.” Pedro scored 20 goals in 50 games last season, but Ancelotti made room for a half-fit Neymar in his squad instead.
