Last year, Cardi B finally released Am I The Drama?, the sophomore album that once seemed like it might never arrive. In the time since then, Cardi toured arenas, made a brief cameo during Bad Bunny's Super Bowl halftime show, performed on SNL episode 1,000, and assisted in Zohran Mamdani's free NYC childcare reachout. Now, Cardi is back to talking her shit again.Today, Cardi releases "AH HA," her first new single since Am I The Drama? arrived. It's Cardi fully in her comfort zone, going in over a beat from past collaborator DJ SwanQo, who previously worked on anthemic tracks like "Up" and "Get Up 10." There's a bit of '80s-style maximalism to the production, and I like the squirming digital bassline. Cardi shouts out the Detroit rapper Kash Doll, and there's some Detroit-style bounce to the production. (If the song is built on a sample, I don't recognize it, and the writing credits aren't listed on streaming yet.) Cardi uses all that musical sleekness to remind us that nobody's fucking with her.Cardi doesn't call out any particular enemies on "AH HA" by name, but you can make your own guesses as to who she's talking about. Her lyrics are all about success as revenge: "I'm 'bout to post another picture, make 'em sick again/ I be hoppin' out the water, ass cheeks jigglin'." I liked this part: "Bitch, you bark pretty loud for a lapdog/ To get this kinda house, you gotta sell your catalog." There's no video yet, sadly. Listen below."AH HA" is out now on Atlantic.
