Car strikes train bridge, suspending line for over an hour

A vehicle has struck a rail bridge in Brisbane’s inner south, suspending a rail line for over an hour.The vehicle struck the bridge at Logan Road in Woolloongabba, at Buranda Station, at 8.37am on Monday.The Cleveland line was suspended as a result, while Queensland Rail inspectors checked the bridge to ensure it was safe to run trains over.Trains began running again at the station just before 10am, in a limited capacity.The line was fully operational by 10.15am, though trains were moving over the bridge at a restricted speed.The delays were expected to even out throughout the day, a Queensland Rail spokesperson said.Start the day with a summary of the day’s most important and interesting stories, analysis and insights.
