Image via Marvel Studios Published Oct 9, 2026, 4:40 PM EDT Ryan O'Rourke is a Senior News Writer at Collider with a specific interest in all things adult animation, video game adaptations, and the work of Mike Flanagan. He is also an experienced baseball writer with over six years of articles between multiple outlets, most notably FanSided's CubbiesCrib. Whether it's taking in a baseball game, a new season of Futurama or Castlevania: Nocturne, or playing the latest From Software title, he is always finding ways to show his fandom. When it comes to gaming and anything that takes inspiration from it, he is deeply opinionated on what's going on. Outside of entertainment, he's a graduate of Eureka College with a Bachelor's in Communication where he honed his craft as a writer. Between The IV Leader at Illinois Valley Community College and The Pegasus at Eureka, he spent the majority of his college career publishing articles on everything from politics to campus happenings and, of course, entertainment for the student body. Those principles he learned covering the 2020 election, Palestine, and so much more are brought here to Collider, where he has gleefully written on everything from the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes to Nathan Lane baby-birding sewer boys. Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available.Captain Marvel's fate in the MCU is a bit up in the air at the moment. Heading into the franchise's next big crossover film, Avengers: Doomsday, she has yet to be confirmed for the superhero blockbuster or its sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars. Given that Samuel L. Jackson recently revealed he'll be donning the eyepatch as Nick Fury once again next year, it's fair to assume Brie Larson won't be far behind him after they shared the screen in The Marvels. So far, though, the actress has been tight-lipped about her return, and there's been little in terms of official casting for Anthony and Joe Russo's second of two new Marvel outings. While fans wait for answers there, The Cosmic Avenger is about to see new life on the page. Marvel Comics' new Editor-in-Chief, Stephen Wacker, hosted his first Bullpen Bulletins! panel at New York Comic Con this afternoon and revealed that a new series centered on Carol Danvers is coming soon for readers. The award-winning G. Willow Wilson, previously known for her writing with Black Cat and Ms. Marvel, will join renowned Fantastic Four artist Rachael Stott for a new ongoing run with the all-powerful hero that will hit store shelves starting next May. This Captain Marvel will be broken out from Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto's current Avengers run. Release Date March 8, 2019 Runtime 124 minutes Director Ryan Fleck, Anna Boden Cast Carol Danvers / Vers / Captain Marvel Writers Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Anna Boden, Ryan Fleck Producers Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito, Patricia Whitcher, Stan Lee, Victoria Alonso Sequel(s) Marvels Franchise(s) Marvel Cinematic Universe
