Capital One is offering a 30% transfer bonus to Japan Airlines through September 30. Normally their points transfer at 1,000 -> 750. This brings it closer to 1:1 – 1,000 to 975 Japan Airlines miles. Bilt and Rove points transfer at 1:1 into JAL normally. Capital One runs this semi-frequently, which is great. Japan Airlines is not a ‘store of value’ program. But it’s got some of the most fantastic values, some of which I mentioned just the other day. Air France business class. You’ll pay about $250 roundtrip in taxes and fees, which is a fraction of what Emirates charges their own members. LATAM Miami–Buenos Aires is 60,000 one-way and 85,000 roundtrip. These are single-partner awards: every flight must be on the same JAL partner and partner inventory does not always match what another oneworld program displays.
