The video sparked widespread outrage on social media.Following a complaint by an animal lover, a case was registered against the accused at Shivajinagar Police Station in Ambernath. Police visited the housing society and questioned him, but protesters alleged that he is yet to be arrested despite the FIR. Protesters also claimed that the cat was buried without following the required legal procedure after the incident. Police later had the body exhumed and sent for a post-mortem examination as part of the investigation.During the march, several animal lovers gathered with candles and placards, and raised slogans such as "Justice for the cat" and "Arrest the accused,” urging police to take swift action.
