READ MORE: CAN YOU CRACK IT? Daily Mail launches Relink Published: 05:13 EDT, 6 November 2026 | Updated: 05:13 EDT, 6 November 2026 Say hello to Threads, the Daily Mail's brand new daily word game – and the most satisfying puzzle to land in our Games section yet.Threads puts your vocabulary and lateral thinking to the test with one simple goal: Stitch the words together and untangle the puzzle. You can play Threads here. How to play ThreadsEvery Threads puzzle is a grid of 25 tiles, set out in five columns of five. Some tiles carry a single letter, while others carry two.Hidden inside the grid are five words. To spell each one, you pick one tile from every column, reading from left to right.Four of the words have something in common. The fifth is the Golden Thread, the word that ties the other four together. For example, if the Golden Thread is ANIMALS, you might be hunting for KANGAROO, SQUIRREL, ELEPHANT and HEDGEHOG. Some answers are two words long, so a DESSERTS puzzle could include CARROT CAKE.Each word you find takes its tiles off the board, so the grid gets smaller as you go. Find all five and you complete the puzzle. There's a fresh Threads every day at midnight UK time. Play daily to build your streak, and share your result to see how your friends got on.Threads sits alongside the rest of our puzzles in the Daily Mail Games section, on the app and the website.Threads tips from the Lead Games Designer To help you get started, here are a few tips from the Lead Games Designer. Start anywhere: The words read left to right, but you don't have to find them in that order. An awkward tile at the far end of the grid can be the best way in, so work backwards from there, or start in the middle and build outwards. Look for tiles that belong together: Take in the whole grid and think about which tiles could sit next to each other. If a tile ends in two consonants, a vowel is a good bet for what comes next. Bear in mind that every tile gets used exactly once. Keep an eye out for the Golden Thread: One word links the other four. After you've found a word or two, ask yourself what they share, because once you've cracked the theme you'll know what you're looking for. If you're stuck, use a hint: A hint joins two tiles together for you, and that's often all you need to get going again.
