The campaign features a series of realistic photos taken in Salisbury Plain Training Area, a genuine military training environment. Sign up for The Sun newsletter Thank you! Hidden within each landscape, from dense woodlands to open terrain, is an expert sniper camouflaged in the surroundings. The challenge to the public is to locate the sniper in the video before the timer runs out. Whilst the campaign might seem like a puzzle, it is part of the MoD’s “Respect the Range” initiative, which aims to keep the public safe when entering military training areas. In locations such as Salisbury Plain Training Area, officers regularly conduct exercises without being visible and audible, but can still present a risk while conducting essential Armed Forces activities. Head of Overseas and Training Estate, Brigadier Gavin Hatcher, said: “Our Armed Forces train year-round to maintain their readiness and operational capability. “Although some training may be clearly visible, much of it can take place without being seen or heard. It is important not to assume an area is inactive simply because there is no obvious military presence.
