The Department of Botany, St. Mary’s College (Autonomous), Thoothukudi, organised Prof. Dr. Sarojini Menon Endowment Botanica–Quest’26 for students of Classes VI to VIII.Twenty-five teams from 15 schools across Thoothukudi district participated in the competition, conducted in both English and Tamil. The interactive rounds tested students’ knowledge of plants, biodiversity and Botany.In the English category, R.K. Rithikaa Shri and R. Saradha Gayathri of Subbiah Vidyalayam Girls Higher Secondary School won the first prize, followed by K. Prathik and V. Harish of Xan Matriculation Higher Secondary School and S. Dhasani Prajitha and G. Pavithra of Kanchi Sri Sankara Academy Matriculation Higher Secondary School in the second and third places respectively.In the Tamil category, S. Selvamurugan and M. Parvatharaja of Karapettai Nadar Higher Secondary School secured the first prize. M. Varsha and I. Harshini of Subbiah Vidyalayam Girls’ Higher Secondary School, T. Sanjana Sri and T. Muthu Sainthavi of Government High School, Pottalkadu, secured the second and third prizes respectively.The event was held under the guidance of Principal Rev. Sr. Dr. C.
