Although his break was well spent after he found himself banned from online marketplace Vinted for pranking sellers. Hatton, 25, said on SunSport’s Corner Talk podcast: “I had a bit of fun on Vinted. I made a fake account and I was messaging people, selling so and so. “Me and my girlfriend, Brooke, we sat on there. It was a good half an hour until we got banned. “So I was messaging people, selling like a size 8 dress or something. And I’d message, ‘Oh, I’m a size 14, but I think I’ll be able to fit in it. What do you reckon?’ “And then I was making them to have to say, ‘No, will you b*****s.’ And then giving them a load of abuse. “So I’m finding artists selling something and going, ‘That’s s***’. I got reported and banned! Good half an hour spent. Don’t waste my evening.” Most read in Sport BEST FREE BETS AND BETTING SIGN UP OFFERS The Home of Boxing in 2026 There's a massive year of boxing ahead! Hatton’s dad Ricky was found dead in his Manchester home aged 46 last September. The second generation boxer has opened up on how it affected him mentally, sparking his own booze and drug battle. But Hatton – who is a father himself to eight-year-old Lyla – has since made a recovery after a period in rehab. He is back in the gym and ready to fight again in the Misfits scene. Hatton said: “It’s a good opportunity for me to get back into the sport and back training and things like that. “But have a bit of fun with it and the pressure is not the same. It’s like it’s a different crowd from the boxing world. “And I know they’ve got the Misfits Pro as well, which I spoke about with Mams [Taylor] and Nisse [Sauerland]. “And I said, that’s something I am interested in. We’re going to do the Misfits first or take it each fight as they come. “But I definitely have my eye on that as well. I don’t necessarily see my boxing journey ending with Misfits.” Hatton with his late father and trainer Ricky Credit: Getty Hatton has signed for Misfits Boxing Credit: Alamy Hatton revealed since setting up the Ricky Hatton Foundation – a mental health charity – it has given him even more purpose than boxing did. He said: “For a lot of people, I think you have to be that convinced it’s going to work to make it in boxing. “You have to have that mindset that failure is not an option. There is never a plan B. So it doesn’t even necessarily need to be a plan B. “If you have your career and it does work, if you haven’t thought about that plan B, you don’t have a clue what to do with yourself, then you’ve sort of lost your purpose. “And I think it’s about finding, from my experience, I think even though I’m coming back to boxing, it can’t be my whole life and my whole purpose. “Because say my career takes off again now and I do everything I dreamed of, I’m just going to be in the same position in ten years’ time. “So I think you do need to think about it while you’re still boxing because it isn’t admitting failure or admitting something’s not going to work because it’s still an issue. “Like Tyson Fury, my dad, they’ve done everything and they still struggled when they retired. “I think you need something that you can’t fully achieve because if you achieve it, then it’s done. “I’ve found it with the foundation work and the mental health work that I’m never going to complete that. So it’s something you can always do. “Or getting into training, there’ll always be another kid coming through. So you can’t really, I think it’s important that you have something that doesn’t have an end game.” Comment now
