Cameron Menzies slapped with suspended ban and fine for punching table in World Darts Championship meltdown

CAMERON MENZIES was fined £2,500 and received a suspended ban after he repeatedly punched a table at Ally Pally. The Darts Regulation Authority – who finally published its full list of fines for 2023-26 after a three-year hiatus – slapped him with a £2,500 fine following a hearing on January 19. Should he breach the DRA code again over the next year, then he could face a potential ban from the sport. Menzies, a former plumber, earned £15,000 for playing in the first round of the flagship tournament in North London. But he has managed to put aside that outburst this year by progressing to 26th on the PDC world ranking and notably reaching the semi-finals of the PDC World Cup of Darts in Team Scotland colours. Gary Anderson, the two-time world darts champion, was fined £3,000 – of which £1,000 is suspended until September 2026 – after he was found to have demonstrated “aggressive and abusive behaviour” during the 2025 World Matchplay in Blackpool. Raymond van Barneveld, a five-time champion of the world, was given a formal warning for “failing to report damage caused to hotel room” at a Players Championship event in Germany in May 2025.
