Activision's Ricochet anti-cheat will run on Arm64, allowing for Call of Duty multiplayer on Arm laptops. It's unclear what Call of Duty title will come to the RTX Spark first (it could be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4). Even though some people don't want to admit it, Call of Duty remains one of the biggest video game series out there, and Microsoft just revealed that the long-running first-person shooter series will come to Nvidia RTX Spark-powered devices in 2027, including the Surface Laptop Ultra. So why is this a big deal? One key issue with gaming on Windows on Arm devices, including Qualcomm Snapdragon X laptops (and upcoming RTX Spark laptops), is that anti-cheat support is spotty at best. This makes it impossible (or at least, very difficult) to play multiplayer-focused games like Destiny 2, Valorant, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and more on Windows on Arm devices. Based on the announcement at Microsoft's recent Surface event, that seems to be changing to some extent. Anti-cheat systems aren't going anywhere, so they need to run on Arm Several RTX Spark-powered laptops are on the way Credit: Activision Since Microsoft confirmed that Call of Duty is coming to the RTX Spark, Activision's Ricochet anti-cheat system is being adapted to run on Arm64. Microsoft owns Activision, so this development isn't totally surprising. Still, it's a big deal for Arm devices, and is hopefully a sign that more anti-cheat tools will be supported soon, including Riot's Vanguard, EA's Javelin, and more. Given the 2027 date, it's unclear if Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is coming to RTX Spark, or if it'll end up being a future unannounced Call of Duty title. Of course, most people probably aren't buying the Surface Laptop Ultra as just a gaming device. That said, several other RTX Spark-powered laptops are coming over the next few months, including devices from Asus, Dell, MSI, HP, and more (Microsoft briefly showed these devices off during its keynote).
