Published October 15, 2026 07:31 PM Caleb Williams has had two full practices this week, but the Bears quarterback insists he doesn’t know whether he will return for Sunday’s game against the Falcons.“Before you start asking, I do not know if I’m playing yet,” Williams said Thursday, via Dan Wiederer of TheAthletic.com. Williams injured his hamstring in a Sept. 20 game, and he has missed the past three games. He said he has checkpoints to clear and a “stress test” to pass before he can play.In his first media availability since his injury, Williams explained what happened when he went down awkwardly on a red-zone scramble in the fourth quarter of the 9-3 loss to the Vikings.“I felt a pop,” Williams said. “That’s why I looked back. I looked back just like everybody else does when you feel a pop. [You] think somebody grabbed you, and nobody grabbed me.” Williams took issue with reports that he was diagnosed with a strain, which some labeled a Grade 2 strain.“It was a hamstring tear,” Williams said, “and a pretty serious one.”Williams would not reveal the grade tear he has.“We got a grade, but I wouldn’t say it’s deserved to be put out there after all the false [reports],” Williams said. “So next question.”
