Cabinet approves ₹1.27 lakh crore for Semicon Mission 2.0, for mobile manufacturing, new highways

The Indian cabinet has greenlit a massive ₹1.27 lakh crore Semicon Mission 2.0 aimed at boosting mobile phone manufacturing and semiconductor production, signaling a significant push towards tech self-reliance. Alongside, approval for two major highway projects worth ₹25,400 crore was given to alleviate congestion in Varanasi and support nine new gas-based urea plants with a combined capacity of 10 million tons. This move not only highlights the government's commitment to infrastructure development but also aims to spur economic growth and reduce reliance on imports, reflecting a strategic shift towards sustainable and self-sustaining industrial growth.
