Burglary accused remanded over address concerns

A 42-year-old man charged with burglary was remanded after his bail application was opposed because he had no fixed address. Ricardo Anderson Maughn denied that between September 16 and 17, he entered a building owned by Charles Headley as a trespasser and stole a $295 wheelbarrow, three buckets of primer valued at $248, nails worth $300, and rope valued at $75. Police Constable Troy Tudor objected to Maughn being granted bail based on the strength of the evidence, his lack of an address, and concerns that he could interfere with the ongoing investigation. Maughn told the court that he had not taken the items and would return on his next court date. Magistrate Jared Richards denied the bail application and remanded the accused until October 16. (JB)
