BUMBLE has angered its users after announcing a major U-turn. The dating app is known for its unique approach to dating where women have to message men first once they’ve matched. In more recent years, the company has moved away from this premise, with CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd confirming this week that the app would be scrapping it completely. Whitney Wolfe Herd defended the move and said: “Today, our community is asking for more flexibility, less pressure, and more opportunities to create real, meaningful connections and that is what this new experience provides. “This evolution isn’t a departure from our founding vision, but the realisation of it.” However, people on social media have voiced their frustration and disappointment at this move by the company. One Reddit user commented: “This is really disappointing. Literally met my husband on the app, on other apps creeps would message all the time, but bumble just seemed easier and more comfortable for me to use since I didn’t have to worry about that.” Another wrote: “So Bumble just became regular Tinder with a yellow background?
