Buckcherry Car Crash: Dead Driver Was 'Facially Unrecognizable' After Being Struck

Buckcherry Tour Bus Crash Motorist's Body Not Fully Intact ... After Being Struck, Killed Published August 24, 2026 11:50 AM PDT | Updated August 24, 2026 12:22 PM PDT The male driver killed in a chain of accidents involving the rock band Buckcherry was so mangled that South Carolina authorities have yet to ID him. Spartanburg Coroner Rusty Clevenger tells TMZ ... the driver was "facially unrecognizable" and "his body was not fully intact" after he was struck and killed by another motorist along I-26 near Spartanburg, SC, last Friday morning. Police said the victim had stepped out of his vehicle after getting into a one-car accident. Cops also said there were 2 more accidents around the same time in the general vicinity -- one of which was a 5-vehicle pile-up involving Buckcherry's tour bus. The band was headed to a gig in Florida when the crash occurred, but thankfully nobody was injured on the tour bus, and the other parties involved only suffered minor injuries. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating all three crashes. Clevenger said the authorities have a tentative ID for the dead driver from his driver's license, and the car is registered to his family member. The coroner also said toxicology tests are being performed on the driver to determine if he had consumed drugs or alcohol.
