The Browns will place him on injured reserve. Per the report, former first-round defensive end Derek Barnett will take Wright’s place on the roster.Last November, the Browns signed Wright to a three-year, $33 million extension. A third-round pick in 2022, Wright has 51 regular-season appearances and 15 starts.Wright was listed as the starting defensive end across from Jared Verse. Barnett played for the Eagles from 2017 into 2023. He was released late in the regular season and claimed on waivers by the Texans, where he remained through the 2025 season.
