So when the team gives a player $230 million guaranteed — and gives up several draft picks for the privilege — then said player doesn’t perform, People are going to boo. Should (some) fans have cheered when Watson tore his Achilles in 2024 against the Bengals? No. That remains a bad look. But so does scolding the fanbase for booing you after four scoreless preseason drives (not to mention the four years of underperformance prior).
