A study found 85 per cent of people feel overwhelmed by the number of jobs they need to get done, while more than half say they have a double-digit list of jobs to sort. One in five Brits also admit they postpone arranging a boiler service for up to three months, only remembering to do it when something goes wrong. Instead of tackling outstanding jobs, four in five admit they procrastinate, including 44 per cent who said they’d rather watch a film. Brits are most likely to tackle items on their to-do list at the weekend (26 per cent), during days off (14 per cent) or over the summer months (14 per cent). Nathan Martin-Nicholls, Technical Repair Engineer at British Gas, said: “I think most people have a to-do list that never quite gets any shorter. Every time you cross one thing off, another couple of jobs seem to appear. “It’s understandable that some tasks get pushed back, especially when life is busy.
