Brits only have days left to claim bank switch offer worth up to £600 – how to get the free cash

A BANK switching offer giving customers up to £600 in free cash is ending within days. Barclays is offering cash bonuses to people who switch to either its standard Bank Account or its Premier Account. However the offer is ending on August 27 so you’ll need to apply soon to get the cash. Customers can get £200 for switching to Barclays’ fee-free Bank Account. You’ll also need to add at least £2,000 to the account within 30 days. If you get paid monthly, this could come from your wage. You’ll receive a text from Barclays if you’ve met the conditions and get your payment within 28 days. You can get an even bigger bonus of £600 if you’re a high earner and you switch to Barclays’ Premier Account. To qualify for the account, you need to have a gross annual income of £75,000 or more and hold at least £100,000 in savings or investments with Barclays. Most read in Money Getting a Premier Account means you can access extra benefits like luxury overnight hotel stays, annual entertainment passes or access to live events. You can also get cashback on certain retailers, an Apple TV subscription and access to exclusive interest rates on bonds and ISAs. Unlike most premium bank accounts, there is no monthly fee. To get the switch bonus, you need to complete a full switch which includes moving over two or more active direct debits. You’ll need to be 18 or over, a UK resident and a new customer. You won’t be eligible if you’ve previously received a switching bonus from Barclays. However you’ll still be counted as a new customer if you’ve got a Barclaycard, mortgage or savings account with Barclays. You will need to delete the Barclays app from your device, then reinstall it and register as a new customer to apply for a Barclays Bank Account. You then need to wait up to 48 hours for your new account to appear in the app. Your bank switch needs to be done through the Current Account Switch Service. This is a free service that lets you switch your current account from one bank or building society to another. Everything is done for you, so all your incoming and outgoing payments will be moved across to your new Barclays bank account within seven working days.
